7/8 - Students researched to find information on each health-related component of fitness, the definition, what activities, can maintain/improve the component, why the component is important, and the health problems associated with low levels of physical activity for the component.
6th Graders are also learning about goal setting, heart rates, FITT principle, and other princples of training to help them create their personal fitness plans.
Students are completing Physical Activity Logs for Week 4. They are recording the date, activitiy, time spent on the activity, and explaining how the activity benefits one or more health components of fitness. The requirement is a minimum of 30 minutes of activity at least five days per week. The week begins on Friday and ends on the following Thursday. Logs are due on Friday before midnight.
